(11th article in the Masters of Deception Series)
If you’ve been following along in the Masters of Deception Series you will know that I believe that the POPE is Antichrist.
How about you? What do you believe?
Perhaps the more important question is, “How did you come to your conclusion?”
In this article I’m going to take you through SCRIPTURE showing you conclusively WHY the Pope is Antichrist.
There is no need for guess work here. It’s all there. My job is to explain it clearly.
Let’s begin by looking at the BIG PICTURE of the Bible. I want to show you how the Bible is divided into 2 groups— men of faith and men of self-will.
Let me explain.
Today we look BACK to the cross for salvation. However before Christ, the world looked FORWARD to Him based on the promise given in Genesis 3:15.
The promise of Genesis 3:15 explains a struggle that would occur between two types of men. Those born of the PERISHABLE seed of Satan and those born of the IMPERISHABLE seed of Christ.
Those born of the imperishable seed of Christ, do so by faith and are the sons of God (Galatians 3:26). Abraham is representative of this type of man (Romans 4:3).
Those who refuse the promise of the Christ, live after their flesh and are the sons of men (John 3:6). They are a product of self-righteousness. Nimrod was representative of this type of man.
Nimrod and the Mysteries
The Bible says that Nimrod was a mighty hunter BEFORE the Lord (Genesis 10:9). BEFORE the Lord, means that he was SELF RELIANT. He saw no need to trust in God because he trusted in himself and his own strength.
In that strength he built a city (Babylon) and a SATANIC religion at the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:4). This religion became known as the MYSTERIES.

How Do the Mysteries Work?
The Mysteries present an INVERTED REALITY where Satan, not God, is Liberator. According to the Mysteries, Satan frees man from the restrictive qualities of God. God hides truth from man.
The Mysteries help man discover the “truth”.
In reality, the Mysteries are dualism. Subversively teaching that Satan and God are EQUALS. But that’s not true. God is far more powerful than Satan. We know that Satan was created by God (Ezekiel 28:13-17).
Satan’s only power is in his ability to deceive. His perceived power comes from the Mysteries. He is like the Wizard of Oz hiding behind a curtain.

The Mysteries and dualism were spread through 7 WORLD POWERS.
If we can see how the Mysteries evolved in history, then we'll be able to recognize them when they appear in scripture.
The world powers are:
World Power #1: Egypt (1400 B.C.)
In Egypt, Dualism was expressed through Isis and Horus and their subservients.
God liberated the nation of Israel from Egypt proving He is the ONLY TRUE GOD. In doing so He judged the gods of the Mysteries.
God judged them through 10 plagues.
1. He judged Hapi— the god of the Nile, when He turned the water to blood (Exodus 7:19).
2. He judged Heket— the frog goddess of fertility, when He gave them frogs (Exodus 8:2-4).
4. He judged Khepri— who had the head of a fly and was the god of rebirth, when He swarmed Egypt with flies (Exodus 8:21).
5. He judged Hathor— who was the cow goddess, when He diseased cattle and livestock (Exodus 9:3).
6. He judged Isis— who was the goddess of motherhood, when men and beast were given boils. She is the equivalent of Semiramis in Egypt (Exodus 9:8-9).
7. He judged Nut— the goddess of the sky, when He caused it to thunder and hail (Exodus 9:18).
8. He judged Seth— the god of crops, when He caused locusts to eat the crops of the land (Exodus 10:4-5).
9. He judged Ra— the god of the Sun, when He caused it to be dark for 3 days (Exodus 10:21-22).
10. He judged all of the Egyptian gods, when He killed the firstborn of every man and beast in Egypt (Exodus 11:4-5).
World Power #2: Assyria (800 B.C.)
In Assyria, dualism was expressed through Ishtar and Ashur, the Assyrian equivalent of Semiramis and Nimrod.

We know that the Mysteries were in Assyria because the prophet Micah calls it, “the land of Nimrod” (Micah 5:6).
Daniel Gets Into the Story
They are:
• Neo-Babylonia
• Medo-Persia
• Greece
• Rome
• Rome 2
Daniel received them from a dream he interpreted for Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylonia. Nebuchadnezzar dreamed of a statue made of different types of materials.
The statue had:
• A head of gold
• Chest and arms of silver
• Belly and thighs of bronze
• Legs of iron
• Feet of iron and clay
History shows us that Daniel’s interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream came true.
But did the Mysteries pass through each of these world powers? Yes they did!
World Power #3: Neo-Babylonia (606B.C.)
In Neo-Babylonia, dualism and the Mysteries were reflected in Ishtar, who continues on from Assyria and Bel or Baal who takes the place of Ashur.

These and other gods are reflected in names of the culture— they are the gods of King Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 4:8).
1. As a captive of Babylonia (from Jerusalem), Daniel was given the Babylonian name BELTESHAZZAR (Daniel 1:7). Bel refers to Bel or Baal which means Master or Lord. Bel is also the nick name of Marduk, the Babylonian god of thunder.
Daniel’s companions were also given Babylonian names to honor the gods of the Mysteries (Daniel 1:7).
2. Hananiah was given the name SHADRACH or Shadaku. This name means, “Under the command of Aku”. Aku is the Babylonian god of the moon.
3. Mishael was given the name MESHACH which means, “Who is like Aku?” Once again, Aku is the Babylonian god of the moon.
4. Azariah was given the name ABEDNEGO which means, “Servant of Nabu”. Nabu is the Babylonian god of wisdom.
Note: The Mysteries originated in ANCIENT Babylon (1700 B.C.). Not to be confused with the later reemergence of Neo-Babylonia (606 B.C.).
World Power #4: Medo-Persia (536 B.C.)
The Mysteries continued in Persia when Medo-Persia conquered Neo-Babylonia.
The religion of the Persians was Zoroastrianism, a dualistic belief in good and evil and man's struggle between them.
Although it was less bloody and idolatrous than other polytheistic religions of the region, it retained vestiges of ancient beliefs that eventually supplanted it, i.e. the cults of Mithra.
The cults of Mithra, grew in popularity until Zoroastrianism faded into obscurity. Mithra, the sun god, and Anaita, the goddess of fertility, were the counterparts of Nimrod and Semiramis in Medo-Persia.

World Power #5: Greece (330 B.C.)
For the Greeks, the principle of dualism lived on in Gnosticism. In Gnosticism the universe was created and ruled by divinities subordinate to a remote Supreme Being.
The Supreme rulers in Greece were Zeus and Dione. Their daughter was Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. Adonis was her lover. Aphrodite and Adonis are the counterparts of Semiramis and Nimrod in Greek culture.

World Power #6: Rome (27 B.C.)
With it’s conquered lands, Rome became a melting pot for the many Mystery Religions it inherited.
Each mystery religion had a specific place of origin. From Greece were the Eleusinian and Orphic mystery religions. They worshiped Demeter and Persephone respectively. Modern Turkey generated the cult of Cybele— the Great Mother, and her beloved— a shepherd named Attis. Worship of Isis and Osiris or Serapis came from Egypt, while Syria and Palestine gave birth to the cult of Adonis. Mithra grew from an angel in ancient Persia to a great savior in the Roman Empire.
Rome eventually fell in 476 A.D., but Constantine attempted to unite it by combining the Mystery Religions with Christianity in 313 A.D..
As a result, the Roman Catholic Church became the new Mystery religion of Rome. It expressed itself through the Madonna and child, a Roman representation of Nimrod and Semiramis.

From the Roman Catholic Church a world power would eventually grow. We refer to it as Rome 2.
World Power #7: Rome 2 (476 A.D.)
In this vision Daniel recounts the world powers in Daniel 2 (Neo-Babylonia, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome) by describing them in different terms.
• Neo-Babylonia, the head of gold becomes a LION.
• Medo-Persia, the chest and arms of silver becomes a BEAR.
• Greece, the belly and thighs of bronze becomes a LEOPARD.
• Rome, the legs of iron becomes the “TERRIFYING BEAST”.
• Rome 2, the feet of iron and clay becomes the 10 HORNS OF THE TERRIFYING BEAST (the 10 horns are the equivalent of the 10 toes in the statue of Daniel 2).
But WHO is Rome 2?
Daniel 7:24 tells us:
1. The ten horns are ten kings who will COME FROM the terrifying beast or Rome.
2. An eleventh king (Daniel 7:8, a little horn) will arise AFTER the 10 horns and will uproot 3 of them.
History helps us understand WHO these kings are.
After it’s fall in 476 A.D., Rome was broken into 10 divisions.
They were the:
1. Alemanni
2. Franks
3. Burgundians
4. Suevi
5. Vandals
6. Visigoths
7. Anglo-Saxons
8. Ostrogoths
9. Lombards
10. Heruli
Rome 2— The Vatican Emerges (the little horn or the eleventh king)
As previously mentioned, in 313 A.D. Constantine conquered Rome. He combined the mysteries of Roman paganism with Christianity in hopes of stabilizing it’s people. The result was a new Mystery Religion called Roman Catholicism.
Then when Rome finally fell in 476 A.D., the Roman Catholic Church was poised to seize power and exert their influence on the world.
The Roman Catholic Church used a document called the “Donations of Constantine”, to control the 10 kings of a divided Rome. This document supposedly written by Constantine gave the church ownership of the entire Western Roman Empire.

7 of the 10 kings honored this document. The 3 that didn’t were exterminated. As Daniel’s prophecy indicates, they were unrooted (Daniel 7:8).
The uprooted divisions were:
1. The Vandals
2. The Ostrogoths
3. The Heruli
The 7 remaining divisions (horns) make up what is now Western Europe.
1. Alemanni - Germany
2. Franks - France
3. Burgundians - Switzerland
4. Suevi - Portugal
5. Visigoths - Spain
6. Anglo-Saxons - England
7. Lombards - Italy
The Roman Catholic Church Takes Over
The Roman Catholic Church dominated the world for centuries. It did so OVERTLY through the administration of the Papal States. It did so COVERTLY through underhanded dealings with the kings of the Holy Roman Empire.
Finally the world had had enough.
The Papacy is Removed From Power
On September 20th, 1870, the Italian army under the command of General Raffaele Cadorna, marched into Rome and overthrew the Papacy and the military forces helping it.
On that day, Cadorna claimed Rome and the Papal States for the Kingdom of Italy. The “little horn” (the Papacy) was removed from power.
The Papacy is Restored to Power
It wasn’t until February 11th, 1929 under the Lateran Treaty, that the Papacy regained power. For their political support, Italian Prime Minister Benito Mussolini, granted them their own sovereign state— THE VATICAN.
Today the Vatican is thriving. The Vatican is a member of the United Nations and has embassies throughout the world. It is the single largest financial power, wealth accumulator and property owner in existence. It possesses more material riches than any other institution, corporation, bank, giant trust, government or state on the globe.

The HISTORY of the Roman Catholic Church helps us understand scripture dealing with the BEAST in Revelation 13 and 17.

The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a BEAST coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and SEVEN HEADS, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. ONE OF THE HEADS of the beast seemed to have had a FATAL WOUND, but the fatal wound had been HEALED.
Revelation 13:1-3
In the Bible, a BEAST is a KINGDOM. A HORN is a KING.
The beast in these verses, represents the 7 KINGDOMS (world powers) we have just discussed. One of the kingdoms received a fatal wound, then it was healed or restored to power.
You will notice that these verses are discussing a KINGDOM that has received a fatal wound— not a MAN as some teach.
Knowing the history of the Roman Catholic Church helps us to understand that this is referring to the PAPACY— a world power that once was, then was not, but then is again.
Interestedly enough that’s precisely how Revelation 17 describes it. The kingdom wounded is a kingdom that once was, now is not, but then is again.

“This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. They are also seven kings. five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for only a little while. THE BEAST WHO ONCE WAS, AND NOW IS NOT, is an EIGHTH KING. He BELONGS TO THE SEVEN and is going to his destruction.
Revelation 17:9-11
Let’s consider what this is saying:
The 7 hills are of course, Rome. Rome sits on 7 hills. But the 7 kings are the kings of the 7 world powers we have studied.
5 have fallen:
1. Egypt
2. Assyria
3. Neo-Babylonia
4. Medo-Persia
5. Greece
One is:
6. Rome
Rome was in power at the time Revelation was written by the Apostle John.
Not yet come:
7. Rome 2, Papacy, Vatican.
At the time of John’s writing, Rome had not yet fallen so Rome 2 had not yet come. When Rome 2 did come it would eventually become the VATICAN STATE.
The remainder of the verse says that the beast or kingdom that ONCE WAS (Rome 2), NOW IS NOT (due to it’s fatal wound in 1870), is an EIGHTH KING (the reemerged Vatican of 1929).
We know the eighth king refers to the Vatican because the Vatican BELONGS to the seventh world power, or Rome 2, that we discussed earlier and as Revelation 17:9-11 says it would.
As we can see, Revelation 17 corresponds to our findings in Revelation 13. A kingdom that once was, now is not, but then is again.
What are the 10 Horns of Revelation 13?
These 10 horns or kings will become a part of the final NEW WORLD ORDER that emerges from the Vatican State.
The following map shows the Club of Rome’s version of a New World Order.
Decoding Scripture to Discover Antichrist
Rather than identifying a single man, our study has shown us the movement of the Babylonian Mystery Religion through time.
That there is a system of antichrists, the Apostle John would agree (1 John 2:18).
Through all of this, Daniel lets us see:
1. The system through which Antichrist will appear (Roman Catholic Church).
2. A prototype of the MAN that would be Antichrist within the system.
The Apostle John gives us the final DETAILS as if to reassure us WHO the antichrist is, should there be any doubts.
Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.” And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a SCARLET BEAST that was full of blasphemous names, and it had SEVEN HEADS and 10 horns. The woman was arrayed in PURPLE AND SCARLET, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “BABYLON THE GREAT, mother of prostitutes and of earth's abominations.” And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.
Revelation 17:1-6
Here, the Apostle John discusses a 7 headed beast being ridden by a prostitute.
Who is the prostitute?
1. She is Mystery Babylon from ancient Babylon (Revelation 17:5).
2. She rides on the back of the 7 world powers that carried her to the end times (Revelation 17:3).
3. She wears purple and scarlet (Revelation 17:4).
Only ONE Mystery Religion fits that description today. She wears the colors of purple and scarlet.
She is the Roman Catholic Church (Papacy) whose colors are purple and scarlet. She rides on the Vatican State, the 7th world power and the 7th head of the beast.
Conclusion
If we understand that the Roman Catholic Church is the current version of the Mysteries from ancient Babylon, then we have come full circle.
The end is like the beginning.
It was Nimrod’s ambition to establish a one world government. The same is true with the Vatican.
Nimrod was building a throne from which Satan could be worshiped (Genesis 11:4). The same is true with the Vatican.
But where will this throne be— in Rome?
No, the Vatican (Beast) HATES the prostitute (Roman Catholic Church) that rides it.
And the ten horns that you saw, they and the BEAST WILL HATE THE PROSTITUTE (Roman Catholic Church). They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire.

If the throne isn’t in Rome, where will it be?
If we understand that not only does Satan want to be worshipped, but he wants to be worshipped on GOD’S THRONE, we’ll have a clue as to his ambitions.
God’s throne on earth is in JERUSALEM!
Jerusalem is the throne of King David, the very place Christ will sit when He comes again!
As a result, for years the Vatican has been negotiating with Israel to control parts of Old Jerusalem.
On December 30, 1993 the Vatican and Israel came to a Fundamental Agreement concerning the Vatican’s involvement with Jerusalem (read this agreement by clicking here).
The 1993 agreement which was a fundamental understanding, still needed all the "i’s" and the "t’s" crossed. So for 20 years the Vatican and Israel have continued to negotiate. They are in the final stages of reaching an agreement.
In January 30, 2013 the Bilateral Vatican-Israel Commission agreed to give the Pope a SEAT in the room of the Last Supper. This seat is officially part of the temple mount and Mount Zion (read article by clicking here).
They met once again in Jerusalem, December 3, 2013 and February 11, 2014— we have not been given the results of those meetings.
Pope Francis Visits Israel in May 2014
Pope Francis will make a trip to Jerusalem on May 25-26. We don’t know the FULL reasons for his visit.
In line with what we have been discussing, here are 2 things he COULD do.
1. He could broker a PEACE TREATY between Israel and the Palestinians by announcing the establishment of a ONE WORLD CHURCH. This church, built on the Temple mount, would house the world’s 3 great religions: Christianity, Judaism and Islam— all of which have claims to Jerusalem.
2. As leader of the One World Church, Pope Francis could announce the moving of the Vatican to Jerusalem.
Has the Vatican brought us full circle? Are we about to see the establishment of One World Church and subsequently a New World Order as attempted by Nimrod?
Time will tell, but scripture is clear, the Antichrist will come from the PAPACY of Rome.
