The Trump Presidency: Should We Follow Donald Trump?

Christians are confused.  On one hand they hear prophecies of impending doom.  On the other hand they hear prophecies of an American renaissance through Donald Trump.  Which is it?  Can we know the truth?

One evening as I pondered these thoughts, The Lord took me to Joshua 5:13-14.

Prior to this chapter, Joshua has led the Israelites across the Jordan river into the promised land (chapters 3-4).  Then in chapter 5 as Joshua approaches Jericho he encounters a man (an angel) standing in front of him with a drawn sword.  Here is the passage:

Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand.  Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies (Joshua 5:13)?"

The angel’s answer is what caught my attention.
“Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.”Joshua 5:14
The angel made it clear— he followed God.  Perhaps Joshua thought that men should follow him.  And today based on a prophecy, perhaps some think we should follow Trump.  But the lesson we need to learn is that no matter who God chooses to use, we keep our eyes on Him!

The elect understand this and follow the LAMB wherever He goes (Revelation 14:4).  The elect can’t be fooled (Matthew 24:24).

We live in a time when the path of the Lord shifts and turns.  If we mentally lock in on one outcome we may miss what God is doing.

•  If disaster comes, there is a reason.
•  If God wants to use Trump to bring prosperity back to America, there is a reason.
•  Even if Donald Trump turns out to be the Antichrist (God forbid) there is a reason.

But how do you get PEACE in all of this?  You get God’s perspective.  With spiritual eyes you see that we have victory in Christ.
Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.1 Corinthians 15:57
With spiritual eyes you see that we are more than CONQUERS in Christ.
Yet in all these things we are more than CONQUERS through Him who loved us.Romans 8:37
With spiritual eyes we see that all things work together for good to them that love Him.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.Romans 8:28
You get peace when you remain in God’s word.  God’s word gives you a higher perspective.  God’s word leads you to a ROCK higher than yourself.
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the ROCK that is higher than I.Psalm 61:2
Inner peace comes when you realize that God is in control (Hebrews 1:13).  Despite circumstances God gives you peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).

An Announcement: The Future of Bible Made Simple

I’m in the process of creating a new YouTube channel called Truth Based Thinking.  As a result, I haven’t been able to post to Bible Made Simple as often as I’d like.  I will continue to post to Bible Made Simple, although with less frequency.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I work to make this happen.  Thank you for your continued support.

God bless.
